August 21st Day 18 Cusco

Cusco was cool and sunny in the morning, but we had rain in the afternoon.

We took the opportunity to sort out the Land Rovers and for me to work on the electronics. I needed to see if I could fix one of the gamma detectors and also clean the chart recorder which had suffered from the dust. I realised that dust would be a continuing problem so decided to encase the pen recorder in a plastic bag to keep as much dust out as possible. All of this inside the Land Rover on the street (we’d unloaded most of the bits and pieces) which was an interesting experience. I am guessing I managed to get coffees and lunch during the day.

Having taken the detector apart, added some more cushioning inside to cut down on any loose rattling, once back together it checked out ok.

All of the work kept me occupied all day (the others I think had chance to have a wander round Cusco) so no photos sadly – however Cusco will feature again later…..

I do know that we had our evening meal at the hotel we were at the previous night, and that’s where we stayed overnight.
